Covid-19 Update

COVID-19 update: as at 2 November 2020

We are currently experiencing extremely high call volumes. So that we can assist customers effectively and efficiently, we are trying to prioritise customers with imminent bookings. Please help us in this effort by NOT getting in touch unless your booking is in the next 14 days (unless we suggest otherwise below).

Government regulations on COVID-19 change frequently. Before you travel, you need to ensure you have checked and understood the relevant regulations applicable to you, and the make-up of your party as it is your responsibility to comply.

Please note that the below is not legal advice and you must make sure you familiarise yourself with the relevant government regulations.

England

New England-wide national lockdown – If the England-wide national lockdown that was announced on 31 October 2020 will come into effect as announced with overnight stays for leisure purposes being prohibited, customers with bookings starting between 5 November and 2 December 2020 where the booking is at accommodation in England or where the customer lives in England will have the option of a voucher or receive a refund of the amount paid for the booking.  If and when such lockdown measures have been finalised and approved later this week, we will be in touch with affected customers so there is no need to contact us. We have already been in touch or will shortly be in touch with customers who had bookings starting on 2 November and ending after 5 November 2020 with their options.  The new national measure will replace the three tier system described below which is currently still in place.

Very High Local COVID Alert Level – if your booking is within 4 weeks of the relevant area having been added to the “Very high” alert level and is at accommodation in a “Very High” alert area or you live in an area with a “Very High” alert level, you can choose a voucher or receive a full refund of what you have paid. We will contact customers who we believe are affected with these options. See the government guidance here.

We are aware that the government is regularly updating the list of areas in the Very High COVID Alert category. If the area you are travelling to or living in is added to the Very High COVID Alert category we will contact you once the government has published its guidance on the specific areas added.

High Local COVID Alert Level – if your booking is in the next 4 weeks and is at accommodation in a “High” alert area, or you live in an area with a “High” alert level and making use of your booking would be in breach of government regulations with respect to party mix (which you can read here), you can contact us to discuss your options which will include receiving a voucher or a full refund of what you have paid.

Medium Local COVID Alert Level – if your booking is at a property in a “Medium” alert area, or you live in an area with a “Medium” alert level, and making use of your booking would be in breach of government regulations (with respect to the ‘Rule of Six’) (which you can read here), you can contact us to discuss your options which will include receiving a voucher or a full refund of what you have paid. We have emailed customers we believe affected by the ‘Rule of Six’ with bookings up until 31 December 2020, please refer to that email to make your choice.

Wales

Welsh National Lockdown – If you live in Wales, or have a booking in Wales, and your booking takes place between 6pm Friday 23 October 2020 and Monday 9 November 2020, your booking will not be able to take place due to the Welsh national lockdown. Further information on these rules can be found here. We are emailing all affected customers, and are offering the choice of a voucher or a full refund of the amount paid.

Wales is due to announce new national COVID-19 measures for when the Welsh national lockdown ends on 9th November 2020. We will update this page when the welsh government has published the new rules.

Scotland

Protection Level 3 – if your booking is due to start between 2 and 30 November 2020 and is at accommodation in a “Protection Level 3” area, or you live in an area with a “Protection Level 3”, you may not be able to make use of your booking. If that is the case, you can choose a voucher or receive a full refund of what you have paid. We will contact customers who we believe are affected with these options in due course. See the government guidance here.

Protection Level 2 or 1 – if your booking is due to start between 2 and 30 November 2020 and is at accommodation in a “Protection Level 2” or “Protection Level 1” alert area, or you live in an area with a “Protection Level 2” or “Protection Level 1” alert area and you are unable to make use of your booking due to the Scottish government regulations with respect to party mix, you may reduce your party size, choose a voucher or receive a full refund of what you have paid. We have previously emailed customers we believe affected by this rule, please refer to that email to make your choice.
